These are the results of the monthly Marathon County Health Department business inspections for June 2024.

The following are the latest results ofMarathon County Health Department inspections onlicensed food establishments and other types of businesses, which the Wausau Daily Herald reports monthly.

Athens

  • Pagels Pub & Grill, 139302 Marathon County L: June 21: Four violations: German potato salad in three-door cooler by the back entry door not cooled properly (corrected during inspection); person in charge not monitoring the proper methods for rapidly cooling food; German potato salad not date marked properly; containers not approved.
  • Wagner's Dairy Treet, 301 Alfred St.: June 7: Five violations: Sanitizer solution in wiping bucket not at proper concentration; a number of cold-hold food items lacking date marking; exterior and interior menu signs lacking consumer advisory for items offered undercooked; numerous food-contact surfaces dirty; exterior screen door has gap along the bottom.

Colby

  • Norm's Buckhorn Bar, 224060 Maplenut Road: June 26: Three violations: Ice scoop stored on top of ice machine; no thermometer in kitchen refrigerator; non-food contact surfaces of silverware drawer and lazy Susan dirty.

Elderon

  • Mark's Bar, 211402 Wisconsin 49: June 5: No violations.

Hatley

  • Lisa's At Lakeside, 214857 Marathon County Y: June 20: Four violations: Hollandaise sauce and biscuit gravy have exceeded their date marks (corrected during inspection); coleslaw in upright cooler not date marked; thermometer for the cooler in the wait station not accurate; hot water handle leaking on the handwashing sink in kitchen.

  • Pine Valley Golf Course, 229309 N. 136th Ave.: June 12: Two violations: Thermometers in bar cooler and under counter cooler old and no longer accurate; bloody Mary mix stored in orange juice container.

Marshfield

  • Belvedere Supper Club, 203630 Wisconsin 97: June 21: No violations.

Mosinee

  • Halder Bridge Bar, 133071 Marathon County C: June 25: No violations.
  • Ocean Blue, 1014 Western Ave.: June 17: No violations.
  • Pinewood Supper Club, 147801 Half Moon Lake Drive: June 12: No violations.
  • Sitko's Bar, 3374 Wisconsin 153: June 5: No violations.
  • Two's Company, 213 Main St.: June 14: No violations.

  • Culver's Frozen Custard, 10202 Park Plaza: June 29: Six violations: Employee not washing hands prior to donning gloves; date marking missing on a number of cold-hold prep cooler items; cooked bacon not marked with time removed from cooling (corrected during inspection); a number of food-contact surfaces dirty; condensation in walk-in freezer collecting behind cooking unit and dripping into cases of frozen chicken tenders; a variety of non-food contact surfaces found dirty.

  • D.C. Everest Greenheck Fieldhouse, 6400 Alderson: June 11: One violation: No irreversible registering thermometer for measuring temperatures in hot water mechanical ware-washing machine.
  • Log Cabin, 1522 Metro Drive: June 14: Eight violations: Bacon strips and sausage links in hot-hold unit on cook line not at proper temperature (corrected during inspection); ice bin at wait staff prep area lacking a full air-gap to prevent contamination in the event of backflow; staff not monitoring hot-hold temperatures for bacon strips and sausage links in hot-hold unit on cook line; numerous food items were past due date marks; consumer menu advisory statement does not designate which foods are offered undercooked; numerous food-contact surfaces unsanitary; several non-food contact surfaces dirty; significant number of cleaned wares found to be stacked together prior to air drying.

  • Christine's, 936 S. Third Ave.: June 12: Four violations: a number of non-shelf stable foods without date marking; beef laab offered undercooked but not identified on consumer menu; a number of food-contact surfaces unsanitary; numerous non-food contact surfaces unsanitary.

  • Sam's Pizza of Wausau, 111 Elm St.: June 27: Six violations: Pan of raw ground pork sausage stored over non-raw foods including mushrooms, pepperoni, sliced cheese and red sauce; front-of-house ice bin lacks proper air gap; a number of cleaning chemicals were found to be stored directly above food-contact pizza bags in dry storage area; date-markings missing on numerous food items that require it; pizza toppings not properly marked with a discard time (corrected during inspection); various non-food contact surfaces and items dirty.

  • Tic Toc Club, 1201 W. Thomas St.: June 18: Seven violations: Bar dish machine not dispensing sanitizer during wash cycle; staff not monitoring sanitizer concentration in kitchen and bar dish machines; date marking absent on a number of required items in prep table cooler; consumer menu does not indicate which items are offered undercooked; numerous food contact surfaces dirty; numerous non-food contact surfaces dirty; rear screen door has gap along bottom of door frame.

  • Wausau Elks Club No. 248, 414 Scott St.: June 27: Two violations: No test kit for testing sanitizer concentration; butcher block knife storage unit not approved.
  • Wausau Mine Co., 3904, W. Stewart Ave.: June 5: 11 violations: Raw fish on baking sheets stored directly above bin of tortilla chips; food items in large counter cooler not at proper temperature (corrected during inspection); bar dish machine not dispensing sanitizer; cook staff on two occasions unable to demonstrate knowledge of proper temperatures and times regarding cooling and heating procedures; staff not monitoring sanitizer concentration for dish machine; date marking absent from a majority of items that require it; numerous food-contact surfaces found dirty; cook line employee transporting overfilled container of whole-leaf lettuce by holding it against their shirt; variety of items stored in sour cream containers; variety of non-food contact surfaces dirty; significant number of drinking cups and large food containers found stacked together without air drying.

  • Qdoba Mexican Eats, 4020 Schofield Ave.: June 11: 12 violations: Salsa verde and corn salsa in walk-in cooler and tomatoes in reach-in cooler next to grill exceed date marks; several food items not date marked in walk-in cooler and prep tables; no single-use toweling available at front service area employee handwashing sink; employee working in food preparation/cooking area without a beard restraint; spices, salsas and sauce squeeze bottles stored in unlabeled containers; food items and boxes of bowls stored on the floor; sugar was uncovered with food debris found in sugar; several non-food contact surfaces dirty; leak in water filter flooding back area by mop sink; no handwashing sign provided at back handwashing sink; mop sink has piece of plastic and accumulation of mop sludge; floor soiled with debris and walk-in cooler has standing water with food debris in the standing water.   • Shanghai Grill, 3910 Schofield Ave. No. 9: Nine violations: Multiple products in the meat prep cooler are not at proper temperature; person in charge not monitoring the food temperatures of product in the meat prep cooler; prep cooler that has beef, shrimp and eggrolls needs to be serviced or replaced; food thermometer not calibrated properly; staff using handwashing sink to mix batter; containers on grill line not labeled to contents; reach-in cooler lid broken; ceiling area around vents dirty; lights in kitchen not all shielded.
