So for the past year our 1 yr old freezer has been leaking and holding a sheet of ice at the bottom. Ive been wondering why my electric bill has skyrocketed the past two months and we just realized that the freezer wont even stay closed anymore. Maytag has become a VERY POOR product. Our less than two year old $450 Maytag Drier just busted as well. After paying repairman after repairman and replacing different parts, we had to get rid of it. I am very dissatisfied with Maytag and will never purchase a product with their name attached. Please keep us posted if there is a class action lawsuit. This is unfair to make a product that fails immediately for the price that is paid!

We had the same problem that everyone is complaining about re: frozen water in bottom of freezer dripping out onto floor. Swore when I got rid of the Maytag smooth top stove that broke after 5 years that I would never get another Maytag but broke down and bought this fridge. Maytag rep made it clear that the Fridge had a NOTE on file about the drain, but it was NOT a product recall. So after virtually taking the freezer apart before the repairman came, we ended up paying $120.00 for the repair, not the part. Yippee. Please note that the repairman told us we saved a lot of money by taking apart the freezer so most repairs probably cost a lot more than ours.

My freezer has been leaking from the bottom for a few months and now the icemaker has quit working as well. The refrigerator has been purchased less than two years ago. The warranty is expired. I will not fix this refrigerator, as it is a gigantic piece of junk. However I would like to be compensated by Maytag at least 1/3 of the price so I can have it removed from my house before it creates more damage to my floors and subfloors.

We purchased this Maytag Centennial washer in 2009 (model # mvwc6esw/Wd; type 849-05; ser # cy1741855) and I have hated it ever since. I had an old 406 Maytag washer that was worth its weight in gold - repaired it as long as possible. I bought this new one because it was a Maytag and that was a mistake. The way it agitates my clothes get tangled and they never did that in the other original Maytag. We had to have it fixed not long after we got it and now every time I turn it on, it immediately starts to agitate on every cycle except hand wash, which it never did before. If I knew it agitated the way it did, I never would have got it. Good thing we bought an extended warranty for this machine. We have used it once already and it looks like we may have to use it again. I am very disappointed in this machine and your workmanship. The old machines were much better and more dependable.

I have owned a Maytag washer since 1989 (25 years) that has had absolutely NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER. It now has a slight leak, so I am considering replacing it. I contacted an appliance store and advised them of my problem. The salesman made a comment which indeed surprised me. He said that, although he would like to make a sale, I should do everything in my power to keep that old Maytag machine because they dont make them like that any more! From reading the reviews about the new Maytag now I understand why! I do not plan on buying another Maytag, which really saddens me, as they were once a high quality, dependable product.

I have had this refrigerator for three years and have ALREADY had two major repairs! I have paid ONE THIRD of the original cost in repairs. The latest was a control board at a cost of $225 and the repair man only charged me a service call and not labor because I was so upset. I called Maytag hoping they would at least pay for the part, but they only want to sell you a service contract (Of course it wont cover the control board, that already happened but would be happy to sell you a new extend warranty). I WILL NEVER BUY A MAYTAG APPLIANCE AGAIN! Run as fast as you can away from this brand. Be warned. They will not stand behind their appliances!

This washer sucks so bad. Just got it a few hours ago and its absolutely horrible. The water just runs for the wash cycle. And I was told by the salesperson at Best Buy that it would save you water. Thats not the case. There is enough water to run over all the clothes. It doesnt agitate enough to even move the clothes around. The clothes basically sit at the bottom of the tub in the water doing nothing. This Maytag Bravo washer will be returned tomorrow. Me and my wife are highly disappointed. I wouldnt recommend this to anyone. Weve decided to just get the old washer fixed and go from there. There are too many bad reviews for this washer to still be on the market. We feel that this was a total waste of time, energy and money.

My Maytag dishwasher is a nightmare. I purchased it in February 2013, started having problems with it turning off a week ago. I called Maytag customer service on Wednesday and was told I had a service call scheduled for Friday. I took the day off of work to be available for the repair service. I was given a phone number for the repair service. By noon I was wondering when I would receive a phone call to let me know when the technician would arrive? Then I was told that my appointment was scheduled for next Tuesday... ARE YOU KIDDING???? THAT WOMEN FROM MAYTAG CUSTOMER SERVICE LIED TO ME ABOUT THE DATE OF SERVICE!!!! I spoke with Scott, customer service representative (manager) and he told me that I was sent an email with confirmation. ANOTHER LIE!!!! I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY EMAIL FROM MAYTAG. I would never buy another Maytag appliance.... They DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE... SUB PAR TO SAY THE LEAST!!! Very dissatisfied customer - wasted my time and are not willing to make it right.

This Maytag is about 7 years old now, at least, and is still running strong. The one thing I do miss, though, is the lint collector basket that used to be on GE washers Ive had in the past. Kleenexes have a sneaky way to getting into the laundry and picking out the remnants is a royal pain! The lint basket on the GE would save me that task.

Bought this Maytag Bravos Washer online from Lowe’s in the holiday season

Bought this Maytag Bravos Washer online from Lowe’s in the holiday season of December 2017 because my previous Maytag HE washer broke after 17 years. I have had nothing but issues with this washer right from the start. The clothes do not come clean as I find myself putting them through the wash cycle two or three times to have them washed and come somewhat clean. The clothes come out soaking wet that I have to put them through the rinse and spin cycle at least one or two more times. I called Lowe’s to complain about this washer and they said they only have a 30 day return policy and they would be happy to call for service for me. I told them it didn’t work from the start but they didn’t care. So now, sadly, I have a repairman coming this week to fix my new washer, And hopefully he can fix it that I can use it and it can properly wash clothes. I wish I would have her read the reviews on Consumer Affairs about this washer before purchasing this Maytag. Not happy with Maytag. I would have never bought it and bought a different brand. Codes appear on the face of the washer better. Nowhere in the manual that I had to personally download myself because it didn’t come with one. And oh did I mention that I need a step ladder to reach into the bottom of the tub? This washer should come yellow because it is definitely a lemon!

I bought this Maytag oven (MEW 7627HB) to replace a 20-year-old GE double oven. Upon the first use, I found that it has noisy cooling fans which run continuously as soon as it is turned on and, for some time, after it is turned off. These fans make an irritating, loud, whistling noise. The dealer responded to my complaint, pulled the oven out and performed a complete system test. He then called engineers at the Whirlpool factory, who told him that the fans were a recent redesign made because the previous design didnt satisfactorily cool the electronic control circuit and that there was nothing to be done about the noise. After several weeks, the oven, when in use, continues to stink of overheated electronics. I fear it wont last long.Note that my old GE model, which also had electronic controls, didnt run a fan at all unless both ovens had been on for some time or the self-cleaning feature had been on for a while. And it didnt make a loud noise.

Same issues as many others here, had to replace the main control board a couple of months after the warranty period was up. Funny thing is though, I brought the old board into my local electronic repair shop thinking it might be worth getting it fixed in order to have a spare on hand in case the new one was also short lived... He told me he examined the board and there was nothing physically wrong... The problem he said was in the programming or firmware. Unfortunately, he said Maytag does not offer an update and there is no way to clone the newer version from my new board onto the old one so it was garbage. Seriously Maytag? Hundreds of dollars later in parts and melted groceries all because you wont issue a firmware update? Also have water leaking out of the bottom of the fridge late at night so Im never awake to troubleshoot it. Considering how sporadic it seems to be, Im guessing it must have something to do with the defrost cycle... Have to figure it out though as its starting to cause damage to the floor and leaking down to the basem*nt :( Never again Maytag.

We have experienced all the same complaints. Loud noise, door lock not working, not enough water in the drum to wash clothes, and the bearings going out and it doesnt work. NEVER will we buy a MAYTAG again. To the scrap yard I go today. Thanks MAYTAG for wasting my money. Thanks LOWES for recommending this garbage.

They were delivered today and the company was professional and set them up, I have spent the last 4 hours washing the same medium load of childrens clothes trying to get them clean. Ive even separated them into smaller loads and am now into the 5th hour of laundering this same load... Im returning them but its gonna cost me 15% restocking fee. If theres a class action please count me in. I thought because our Maytag Neptune lasted so long wed have a great outcome again with these, boy were we WRONG!

Purchased 4-2010, used maybe once a week, it stopped working 11-2013. They sent someone out to replace the faulty recall, which the recall says there is an electrical wiring failure that can cause a fire, so they replaced part. It did nothing, the dishwasher still would not wash, just fill up with water and drain, but would never go into wash, so we call and argue. First girl said that recall has been known to burn out the control panel so we have to pay for a service person to come out and diagnose it, if that is it, they will pay to repair it. Then when he does diagnose it, we call back, the next person says no, the recall has nothing to do with the control panel, that it is just a bracket that holds up the heating element... REALLY. Well then the Consumer Protection Agency has the wrong info because I just looked on there and the recall says, Electrical failure with the heating element that is not related to a bracket, I can read and I am not stupid, so we were out the $50 service call, so we finally got them to agree and pay for the part, but we would have to pay to put it on...HHHHHH NO, I am not spending another dime on service calls, I could spend the same amount and go and get a scratch and dent dishwasher for the same or just a little more. We are calling back tomorrow to argue more with them, then I am emailing the local TV station that handles these kind of issues. MAYTAG is a piece of nothing, I will never buy this or anything with their name on it again....

I purchased both the washer and dryer in this series. First the washer does a horrible job actually cleaning the clothes unless you set it as a bulky load and use more water. Despite that issue, after only owning the set for four years the dryer broke down. It made a terrible noise and you could not run it because it was far too noisy. My husband thankfully bought a replacement part and fixed that issue. A few months later I started having trouble with the washing machine. It freezes constantly and I have to unplug to get it working again. It usually take over 15 times to actually get it to begin to fill with water. Now it started to stop working during the wash cycle and I have to unplug it again to get it going. Most times I have to change it to another setting like rinse and spin or drain and spin to complete a wash cycle. Last night it began to have a plastic burning smell. I used to own the same washer for 20 years and only had minor issues that come with extended use. To only own this pair for under five years and have them both break down proves that these are poorly made products and you should save your money and purchase a different brand altogether. I will never buy another Maytag as long as I live if this is how well their products are made. I expect to have my appliances last longer than five years for their price. So save your money when it comes to these machines. I promise you will not be happy with your purchase. I will either have to repair the washer and hope it will last at least a few more years or chalk this up to a lesson learned and discard both machines.

Two years ago I purchased a Maytag Top-Loading HE Low-Water washer. I have always taken great pride in the way my laundry looks and smells but since this purchase, my laundry no longer smells clean and fresh nor does it look clean. I have always used the same detergent and fabric softener (only now I use the HE version) and it served me well. I have read all of the directions and did as I was instructed. I cannot believe that anyone would actually think that you can do laundry with practically no water. Do the decision makers have not common sense at all? I didnt and still dont believe it but what choice did I have when all of the machines are now HE with low water. I think its terrible that consumers dont have a choice. I have come to realize that low water, HE washing machines actually waste more time, energy and money (detergent and fabric softener). My clothes are not clean, nor do they smell good when the wash cycle is finished so I have to wash them again, using more detergent, fabric softener and energy. The super fast spin that supposedly sucks out most of the moisture, also rumples my laundry with semi-permanent wrinkles (even on the low wrinkle setting) so clothes that never had to be ironed before, now need pressing. I find it remarkable that, with all of the detergent ads promoting washing clothes in cold water to save energy, we are told that if our clothes are not sufficiently clean in cold water in our HE washers, that we should try a warmer/hot temperature. Good luck with that because my machine has several temperature settings but only uses one - COLD! I cannot actually believe that with all of the technology that our society holds, we are going backwards in the basics of washing clothes. Terrible product, terrible quality, terrible results, terrible waste of time, resources and money. Why cant you just leave some things alone??

We bought the fridge (MFF2258VEW2) about 5 years ago. We have had nothing but problems. First it was the water leaking all over the floor. The repair man said the drain tube in the back was too small. That was replaced. Then the door gaskets were replaced. The doors still do not stay closed. Again water leaking all over the floor. The bottom of freezer had ice all over it. I had to take the back of the fridge and freezer. For 2 days I had a fan blowing on to defrost it. The door shelves are cracked and falling off. I had to pay for the hooks that hold up the bottom shelf 5 times and again they are broken. The long narrow slide out shelf is broken. Food in the back of the fridge are freezing. I have contacted Maytag a lot and they will not fix the problems. At the same time I bought the fridge I bought a Maytag top load HE washer and a drier. I had to throw out the washing machine last year. It would have cost me too much money to fix it. I will never EVER buy Maytag again.

I bought a brand new Maytag bottom freezer fridge in May 2005. The first thing to go was the timing switch. I lost all contents of the fridge and freezer. The next to go was the compressor. Again, all the contents of the fridge and freezer were destroyed. This was after the 5 year warranty was complete. The cosat of repairs is around $800.00, which is the cost of a new fridge. I emailed someone from customer service, who replied how happy they are to hear from me, and how I can call anytime. I called customer service, and spoke to a supervisor. The fridge was built in the USA, but cannot tell me where the parts are from. No one seems to get, that I am disgusted that an appliance would last only as long as the warranty lasts. Oh, and the repairs are only covered for 90 days. My parents have a 62 year old RCA chest freezer that is still going strong. The lesson is, dont get rid of your old appliances. They may use a lot of energy, but they last. I will never buy from Maytag, ever again.

I sent an e-mail to the Maytag Customer Service Manager on 04/20/2015 and was told that its no longer covered by the warranty. I informed the manager that this is a defective/flawed design/rusting part from the beginning and Maytag should have REDESIGNED it when I informed them first hand and not just replaced it with the same defective/flawed/rusting part. I, too, have had major problems with this Maytag refrigerator! We have experienced everything from a malfunctioning ice maker, flashing control panel, overloaded compressor, erratic freezer (freezes much of the fridge contents), and doors not staying closed/inadvertently popping open. We have owned this fridge since 2007 and have repaired the ice maker and the freezing problems on our own dime. When the clicking sound woke the entire house up at 5 am, I finally decided to post! I realize that appliances are not perfect, and that Maytag had the best of intentions when designing and producing this product, but what really infuriates me is that Maytag has known about this widespread inherent problem since late 2006! Why no recall? Why no notice? Why no assistance? When I called the customer service line this morning, the representative acted like shed never even heard of this fridge having problems - yeah, right. All you have to do is Google the model number or just Maytag fridge panel flashing and clicking problem to discover thousands of similar complaints. I do not fault Maytag for manufacturing a less than perfect appliance, but I do hold them accountable for adequately repairing/replacing such a rampant and unsafe (compressor overload) product! Maybe it is time for a class action. Something needs to be done to protect the consumer from a company that is so slow to correct a long-standing and potentially dangerous problem!

I am 65 years old and for all of my life there has always been a Maytag washer and Dryer in our home. My great grandmother and great grandfather had a gasoline powered Maytag. My maternal grandmother had wringer-Maytag and my parents have always purchased Maytags. When I was on my own I purchased Maytags. In November of 2012 I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer. I had no reservations because it was Maytag. In October of this year (2017), the washer starting roaring and I had purchased an extended warranty. I called a reported this. A local appliance repair provider was sent out after I called the 800 number on the warranty agreement. I waited several days and finally called the repair provider and was told the parts needed were backordered. Time rocked on several weeks with no communication until I began calling both repair provider and warranty company. Still no washer repair. Ultimately, the resolution was not to repair or replace the washer, but to refund the purchase price and sales tax. The Home Depot salesman that sold us the washer and dryer, as well as the extended warranty coverage assured us that should either the washer or dryer fail it would be repaired or replaced, neither occurred. This left me without a washer for more than a month. Then finally I called the warranty company used by Home Depot and I was told a refund check would be sent for the washer, along with laundry reimbursem*nt check. My difficulty with this is even though I got my money back on the washer and some of my expense on having the laundry and dry cleaning done elsewhere, it does address the issue. Simply, I see the Maytag commercials all the time and they are simply noise on TV now. I am still wondering how this could happen to a washing machine that had less than two and half years of use, never abused, cared for could fail in five years. I was used to having Maytags last decades with little or no repairs. Given the fact this machine was top of the line and well taken care of, I so very disappointed and not buy another Maytag of any kind again. By the way, I have a home in the country with a 27 year Maytag washer and 20 year old Maytag dryer that come from my home in town that Bravos XL dryer replaced. My research during all of this has led me to conclude this is not an isolated incident, but far larger problem with these washing machines. Why has there not been a recall on these inherently defective washers been issued. Where is the justice in this, even though the refund and small laundry reimbursem*nt has been received it does not make any happier. I have lost my confidence in Maytag and I thought that could not happen with Maytag.

Maytag Bravos XL - I have always loved Maytag and never had any problems. In Feb we did some major remodeling with new flooring in our laundry room. Decided to buy a brand new washer and dryer even though our 10-year old Maytag washer and dryer worked perfectly fine. After looking at Home Depot and Lowes we first settled for a Samsung W & D but before it was delivered we shopped some more. After doing some inquiring we decided that we wanted to stick to a long trusted W & D line so we chose this washing mashing and matching dryer. From day one I decided I did not care for it. I found if I put too many clothes in that they did not come out clean. Any dark pants would come out with what looked to be soap or softener stains and would have to rewash 1 or 2 times. Now I can only put in about 4 pairs of pants to wash. I have been cleaning it once a month as the manual says to do but yesterday I noticed a terrible odor coming for the washer. I could smell it out in the hall. I did the cleaning again but still smell it. Now after searching the internet I find a video that shows the problem is mold under the drum. No amount of Affresh or bleach is going to clean something UNDER the drum. It is not my job to have to take this apart every few months and clean out mold and moldy water. Sounds like this problem has been going on for a few years and this should have been fixed long before this. I wish I had my old faithful washer and dryer back. Maybe I should have stuck to the Samsung washer and dryer.

Im so mad over my new purchase on the XL Bravo washer and dryer and Home Depot will not return. I have 3 kids and a hard working husband. My clothes do not come out clean no matter what cycle I use. It takes forever just to wash one load. If you spill something on your clothes and it dries crusty it will come out of the washer crusty. I want to cry. So much money wasted and cant get our money back. Would never recommend a washer without an agitator. Towels come out soaking wet, and dont spin dry if heavy...forget washing a blanket. 4th day using the dryer and now there is no heat. What was I thinking!! So mad and sad too!

We purchased a Maytag from Lowes about 3 years ago. The spin function quit working properly last Feb 19. We paid $350 to have parts replaced thinking it was a fluke and we would be set for a long time to come. Well, last week the same thing happened... not even a year later. Lowes doesnt care and Maytag doesnt care. They want you to spend more to get a warranty to get you to 5 years... well as far as I am concerned that is not good enough. An appliance should last 10-15 years. This Maytag was to replace a Whirlpool that caught all of our clothes in the agitator fins, so after a short period of dealing with that we paid out for a Maytag without an agitator. So in the span of 6 years... we had about $1,500 of dissatisfaction. I believe our repair guy said they the companies are one and the same. Selling junk ought to be illegal.

I purchased the washer and dryer approx 6 or 7 years ago. Out of the gate about a year the pump had to be replaced on the washer- 2010. 1/2012 the tub needed to be replaced, 6/2012 the PUMP needed to be replaced again! Then 2013 the dryer need a new board at the tune of $391.00. And today, yes - yet once again I need a new pump! Over $2,000 in repairs on these awful machines. I called Maytag because I thought maybe they would care - not so much. The rep told me that the Bravos models were discontinued (shocker) but that she could give me a discount on a new comparable version at ONLY $600. How nice! I will use these until they fail again - which according to history - that wont take long and then I will NEVER EVER EVER purchase a Maytag product again. We work hard for our money and continually giving it to a company (for parts) for a product that they failed to make a quality product is not going to happen again! DO NOT BUY MAYTAG. Do your research and give your money to companies that care. MAYTAG should be held accountable and a class action suit should be filed. They need to GET IT and they never will if we sit back and let them take advantage of consumers.

We received our new Maytag washer MHW8200FC on Saturday 11/18/17. We washed 2 loads on Saturday and on Sunday it didnt start. Not only did it not start but it was locked with clothes in it. We finally got it to open but it wouldnt start to wash. We had the distributor, Warners Stellian, schedule a service tech. He came out on 11/21/17 and determined the board was bad and that he would order one and be back on 11/29/17. A week without a washer doesnt work for a family of 5. This isnt like a lawn mower I use once a week, we use it daily. Whatever happened to quality control? A brand new expensive product breaks in 2 days? Maytag says its Made in the USA, which Im all for... Only if it works. USA or China, broken is broken so I dont care where its made. Whether its planned obsolescence or just a plain faulty product, Maytag is now another brand that I will avoid buying in the future.

Purchased a Maytag Bravos top load washer and dryer in May of 2011. We had our other Maytag washer and dryer for 14 years, and they were working fine when we sold them. We saved a year for a new one. We spent $1,700.00 for them both. We assumed they would last as long as our old ones. Been buying Maytag our whole lives. Besides the clothes not getting cleaned. Besides the washer smelling, even after we clean it regularly with the product proposed. Besides it not working on the normal function. Besides it shredding our clothes if you put it on the highest spin speed. It started to make a very loud noise. Like an airplane taking off. Called a friend of ours that use to have an appliance store in Fenton, Michigan for decades. He said it was the bearings and that You have to replace the whole tub. A $300-$400 fix. And that it would do the same thing again in a short period of time. He said that they are junk.We would be better off buying a new one. He said, The ONLY one you can buy now that will last like they use to is Speed Queen. I had never heard of them. They start at about $750. But they are worth it. He said that they dont make any washers to last more than 3-4 years anymore. We will NEVER buy Maytag again. And Sears wouldnt give us the time of day. Each time we called and asked to be switched over to the recall department, we just got a busy signal, then a fax machine noise. We have shopped at Sears for years. Boy, loyalty doesnt mean anything in this day and age. Im sure Speed Queen will be happy to help us out. DO NOT buy any Maytag products. There should be a class action suit against them for this. There are thousands of us that got ripped off. I cant tell you how upset my husband and I are about this. We are retired, and on a fixed income, and I am disabled. The stress this has caused cannot be put into words.

Within next 6 months, and just before end of warranty, right front burner stopped working and again Maytag covered it under warranty. Within the second year of ownership, the oven was not working correctly and Maytag refused to cover it because it was off warranty. So I called a local appliance repair company who gave me an estimate of over $300 to repair it and basically advised against repair stating that this stove was a piece of junk. So I replaced it with a GE and junked the old one before it was even two years old. I filed a complaint with Maytag. We bought a Maytag Neptune Washer and from day one in 7/10/2004, we have had trouble with the washer and Sears. First, it stopped working within eight months after we paid over 1300 for washer and master protection agreement. We called over and over from that day and was told we didnt show in their system as owning one and that we didnt get the master protection agreement. This went on and on until they finally told us on 8/2010 that they finally did find us in the system and that the agreement had ended a year before and would send someone (that was on 8/31/10) to do the washer. After having sat for almost six years, it reset itself and worked that day. I told the guy from A&E that it was the computer but that wasnt what he replaced so the washer went right back on in a month. So we had to save to have someone else come out from A&E to charge us 143.10 to say it would cost a total of 310.51 for the computer and that it probably wouldnt work for too long.

I have a Maytag Range that I bought new and installed 6-1/2 yrs ago for over $1200.00. I am single so I rarely use the ovens. The upper over I use maybe 1-2 times a month and the lower oven I may use once a month. The night of 3/7/2016, I used the cleaning cycle set on medium for both ovens. Yesterday, when I went to wipe the ovens down, I found the lower heating elements, on both ovens, had snapped. The top ovens lower bracket had broken in 2 places, the first break is about 2 from the connection, on the right side leaving about an 7 gap. The lower ovens element had broken in only one place about 2 from where it connects into the back of the oven. This has to be a flaw in the either the design or the material. In the 45 yrs that I have been using ovens and stoves, my last stove was over 35 yrs. old, I have never had a heating element break. While I can understand a break at the connection, I can see no reason that the it would break in the center of one side on both lower elements in the same oven. I also noticed that lower heating elements are a much small gauge than the top which I find strange. The other issue with the stove is the seals around the windows are not tight. I noticed dust was inside the two glass panes. The rubber seals were sunk down into the door, but Maytag said it was not their problem that I must have done something. When I remodeled my kitchen, I bought all Maytag products: 1.H20 Frig - The electronic panel went out after 3 months and had to be replaced. Manufacturing Defect - When the repairmen came to fix it, he told me to call Maytag which I did. They refused to pay for the repair because I called a repairman first, even though the business was Maytag certified. Even though I said I would cancel the service call they said because I had made the appt. and they recommended I call Maytag, they would not cover the repair. 2. Stainless Steel Dishwasher (Cost over $700.00) - Motor went out after 3 yrs. 3. Microwave/Convection Oven (above the stove)- Convection light out after 4 months. The replacements are not inexpensive. One other complaint I have is when I bought all my large kitchen appliance Maytag had a $600.00 rebate offer. Even though I mailed all the required documents to the company over 2 months before the rebate ended, I never received my rebate. The explanation I received was that the center that received my documents delayed forwarding them to the proper department that processed rebates and they were received after the offer ended. When I questioned the legality of the practice, I was told that this was all explained in the Terms and Conditions (ie: small print).

The new Bravos XL is a very inferior machine, nothing but problems. The clothes have to be washed two or more times to make them clean. There is no agitator, so your clothes have only other clothes to scrub up against, and the spin cycle is just thumping and banging and thrashing around until you’re able to get in and rescue it from itself. I bought the newest most energy efficient Maytag model M9BXXGMYM00 (for about 1K) from a local appliance store and after 9 months it wouldnt freeze. The local store picked up and left a loner for the fridge and made repairs in shop returning it in a week - great - except that approx. 11 months later the fridge again wouldnt freeze. The store sent repairman who charged 125$ to tell me it had leaked its freon again and would need repairs which were no longer covered under 1 year Maytag warranty. I asked the store to back their work but was only given a refill of the freon and half off the service visit. 2 months later the fridge is not freezing. I know because the repairman and store owner Mike told me that it had freon leak and that Mike himself had made repairs to the leak that the unit wasnt repaired.I have read that freon is toxic and can be hazardous to people with heart conditions and a list of bad effects. Maytag will only send someone to repair unit for a service call charge plus the repair charges and will not replace a defective unit. I can take the appliance store to small claims court over faulty warranty repairs but probably not the health risks - which are disputed by the experts. Ive read reviews and have heard from people who have appliance issues that the companies basically use a defective unit as a cash cow sending repairmen back again and again and never fixing the problem making a lot of money off of frustrated people who have bought a lemon from a company who doesnt back their product or their work. I was only looking for a decent refrigerator and paid plenty for one. I now have to get rid of a nuisance or pay to fix it - probably more than once and spend lots of time getting through the court vs. store owner process for any of the 1000 bucks lost on the defective toxic junk I got from Maytag.

I purchased a matching set Maytag washer & dryer June 2013. Sept 2013 the drum went out - 4 weeks for that repair. March 2014 the electric panel went out. Took about 10 phone calls with hold waits of 30 to 70 minutes and 4 months, to find out the replacement part is no longer available and the washer is discontinued. To get a new matching set, I had to pay for a new dryer and they will give me a free washer. I have to give both washer and dryer back - I paid for 2 dryers. 6 month later and more phone calls, no washer and no one will return my calls. The dryer I paid for is at the appliance store waiting on the new washer. We consumers have nowhere to go. I have heard so many similar situations. Where are we to go? Who are we to call?

This Bravos washer and dryer saves energy for sure, but sadly, that is it. It does not wash my clothes and rinse them adequately. They are so twisted and wrinkled I have ironed just about all my clothes. Even my synthetics are severely wrinkled. The dryer sensors do not work. They never dry the clothes adequately. The concept was good in that they are compact and have a large capacity, but the design does not work. I was lured in and unfortunately, there were no reviews at the time but I see that everyone shares my sentiments. The washer and dryer are just not any good. Thank you.

Always have bought Maytag. 16 years on both washer and dryer. The newer models, which I dont have, locks the top of the washer after it starts. I would hate that. I dont care if they are stackable but I would want full size. I dont think I would pay extra for a front loader, but the only front loading washer I have ever owned is small and at our camp.

I moved into an apartment home in June 2016. My apartment was furnished with all new appliances. The washer & dryer were purchased in May 2016. I live alone so on average I do 1 load of laundry per week. In November I noticed paint peeling on the inside of the dryer drum. Each time I use the dryer more paint peels. I contacted Maytag because I figured the dryer was still under some type of warranty. They sent out a technician only to tell me this was a cosmetic problem and cosmetic problems are not covered under the 10 year warranty. I would need an authorization code from Maytag if it was covered under warranty.Again, I contacted Maytag and now they want to send another technician for a second opinion. I dont feel this is cosmetic because the dryer is only 6 months old and already the paint is peeling. I feel this is a product defect because this type of problem shouldnt happen on a new appliance. I have scheduled an appointment for a second opinion and if he says its cosmetic then I have to pay out of pocket for the repairs to fix the problem. I thought Maytag stood by their product and customer satisfaction was a top priority. I guess I was wrong.

We purchased the Bravos XL Washer (top loader) and dryer about a year ago and have had issues with it since it was installed. Please note, we live between two homes so the machines are not heavily used at all. Our $250 machine we have in our Florida home works a million times better and is several years old. We purchased at the ABC appliance store and they have sent out a technician 4 times in the first few months. Bottom line, these are just pieces of crap machines. They cannot be returned! It is really a shame for the money spent and your clothes does not get clean on any cycle. The technician told us we should use the Deep water wash for all cycles which still does not work. I bought this machine for the XL capacity but also for the delicate cycle and stains do not come out, undergarments are still dirty, white power residue from OXI is left on the clothes etc... DO NOT BUY. This would get zero stars if I could. So disappointing and frustrating. If class action suit does happen, I would want to be part if it.

We purchased this brand new Maytag dishwasher (Model MDB7749) from Home Depot July 30, 2013. Now a little more than 18 months after purchase the control panel is out. Some lights blink, several go on at the same time. Tried resetting by removing then reinserting power plug (that worked once before, a couple of months ago,) but nothing works. Pretty much the same defect and problem I am seeing with other folks with these Maytag dishwashers. I saw online that a Sears outlet was selling these same model Maytag units for 48% off...Well, now I know why. My older Maytag appliances lasted many years. My Maytag washing machine was replaced two years ago, and it had lasted 14 years. I guess they simply do not build them like they used to. I should of just bought a cheaper model for 3-400 bucks, would of got the same use out of it. Does anybody know of a brand and model dishwasher today that is reasonably priced, dependable and has some longevity to it? I will call for service on this, but Im not spending hundreds of dollars on a defective engineering flaw, throwing good money after bad. Besides, the repair would probably only give me a 30-90 day warranty anyway. Learned my lesson. I will never buy another Maytag product again...Ever. Also I see now that they are part of Whirlpool, so they are out too. Anybody have any suggestions on a good replacement unit? Thanks...

After researching the top-rated washing machine in consumer reports, we decided to spend the extra cash ($930) and buy the top-rated machine. Spending almost double on a high end machine, you would expect this machine to last longer than three years. The motherboard needs to be replaced because it gets stuck on a UL code near the end of the cycle. Now, we have had two people come try to fix it, and they said to trash it and buy a new one. Only three years! If I had paid $300, I wouldnt be so upset, but that was a total waste of money for it to last less than any machine Ive ever had. How is a consumer supposed to know what a good washing machine is if they spend extra cash for the top-rated machine and that one is still bad? The company should replace something like a motherboard that goes faulty when it had nothing to do with use. So unfair and frustrating.

Front load washer is four years old. Approximately two years after owning the washing machine it started burning and ripping our clothes. Maytag sent someone out to repair at no cost. The problem stopped. However, approximately two years later it is happening all over again. Thus, there is either a deficiency in the Maytag product or the repair has failed. Maytag will only repair at our cost. True, the washer is four years old but the same problem keeps happening. Plus, that is not a long time in the life of a washing machine. The customer should not be held responsible for a recurring problem with their product. The front load washer and dryer were very expensive. We will NEVER buy Maytag and we will continue to share our disappointment to whoever will listen. It is shameful that Maytag says they stand by their product but when its put to the test Maytag completely fail. Double thumbs down for Maytag and customer service!!!

Maytag model #MDB6949SC, purchased Feb 22, 2015. In early May plastic parts from the top rack wheel assembly broke. Assembly unit replaced at no cost through the 1 year warranty. (cost = time and effort to arrange replacement with repair person). Same parts broke again in November - replaced at no cost again under warranty. Warranty expires in two months. If past performance indicates future performance, this part will need replacing twice a year at ~$140 per visit or $280 per year. Not a good thing. Called Whirlpool and with several calls and emails. They offered an extension of a year on the warranty. I think using plastic for this wheel assembly unit is a design flaw. Would not recommend this dishwasher.

Dishwasher touch pad is gone again... 2nd time in 3 yrs. Last one cost us 265.00. We are senior and thought these appliances would outlast us. We only use it about twice a week. Our freezer door tracks and door needed to be replace 6 mo after purchase. WE lost all the food that had defrosted. Our oven coil burned out already also... that was expensive to replace. I mistakenly purchased the Bravo XL top load washer. I only wish I could give it a zero rating. I have only tried to wash 3 loads of clothes. It is almost beyond belief that anyone could possibly think this could clean anything. My husband actually watched it “work”, and insists I call Maytag because they must have forgot a part! It does nothing but crumple/wad the middle items together and rub them...and only them...together. There is no movement of the outer items until it spins. Maybe Maytag should enlist people who actually do laundry to “test” the items they put their brand on. I know the government and the energy rules have added to the complex problem of buying something as simple as a washing machine...but this piece of junk is almost laughable to watch as it destroys your laundry. I’m almost embarrassed to let anyone know I bought it. Thankfully, I have 30 days in which to return it.

We purchased our Maytag Refrigerator Model # MBF2258DEHM on 12/21/2015. Just a couple of issues I would like to bring to your attention before you purchase your Maytag. The single refrigerator door does not close automatically. You have to close the door. The metal handle is metal and has a metal smell and feel to it. The stainless steel door and the handles are not the same finish. Although this might not be a problem for some who like the industrial look I prefer my hands to be free of chemicals while I am preparing food. The ice maker takes up too much room. The ice maker should have been an option, not a standard item. I had a Kitchen Aid for 10 years and loved it. I thought I was going to have my Kitchen Aid for 15 years or more. I would have purchased another Kitchen Aid, but the reviews were not good.

I purchased a Maytag Centennial Washer at the end of last year. Within 2 weeks, I knew it wasnt a good washer and asked my husband if we could return it. He said, No. I dont like using the fabric softener dispenser, so I used to use a Downy ball. This washer doesnt spin hard enough to open the ball. I tried 3 separate times. Each time, the ball came out with the fabric softener in it at the end of the cycle just like it was when I put it in. It also doesnt get the clothes clean. Im using chlorine bleach, detergent and OxiClean and our whites are gray. It doesnt get the simplest stain out and the soak feature is a joke. If you use the soak feature, the washer fills up, the lid locks, it soaks and then the water drains out. No spin or anything.Normally, on the old washers, you could just push the knob in to stop the agitation to soak something, but not now. The lid locks, which I cant stand, when the washer is working. I would like to see if it is agitating or to add more clothes if I want. Im not sure who designed this washer, but they should go back to the drawing board. Ive tried every cycle and none of them work well. It also takes an hour to wash a load of clothes. Im just so disappointed with Maytag on every level. This was my first Maytag purchase and it will be my last.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer at Best Buy (Pacific Sales)

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer at Best Buy (Pacific Sales) in March 2013 at Best Buy. I also purchased extended warranty on both machines. A few months into owning the machines, the washer started giving us a UL error light. It wouldnt finish the wash cycle and had to be restarted multiple times before it would do so. I called Best Buy and they sent out a repairman. He said the set-up cycle had not be run correctly by their own installation team (which I paid for), and he said that he had fixed it.A few months later the problem started reoccurring again. Best Buy sent out repairman again who claimed there was nothing wrong with the machine. He left and the problem started reoccurring soon thereafter. I called again, and Best Buy said they couldnt do anything about it because Maytag could only work on the machine (it was now getting an F:51 error message as well). Maytag sent someone out who watched it run for 15 minutes and diagnosed that it was fine and left. I told him that the error didnt occur until the end of the cycle, but this seemed to make no difference to him (he didnt want to wait).Same thing happened again (might run five to ten loads without an error and then it pops up again), and I called Best Buy again. They sent out the Maytag repairman again (different repairman). He spent about the same amount of time as the previous Maytag repairman. His conclusion was that the machine was fine; he told us that this particular washer (the top-of-the-line for Maytag) gets out of balance frequently and that we would simply need to live with it. Like his colleague, though I told him that the error message doesnt occur until the end of the cycle, he didnt stay that long. Not long after he left, the problem started occurring again. I called Best Buy and indicated that theyve had plenty of chances to repair the machine and that I wanted a new one. They said someone would call. The response: another call to schedule a repair visit. I called them back and told them that I didnt want another repairman but rather a new machine (weve wasted hours and hours of our time giving them a chance to make the purchase right). They then had someone from the Geek Squad call, who swore that hed put his best guy on it and that he would actually work on it this time (ordered parts). He was supposed to show up this past Friday but called in sick (now rescheduled for this coming Friday). In the meantime, the machine (last night) quit working altogether. I have a pile of wet laundry and am faced with going to the laundry mat today.Im at an utter loss of words for this experience. It is truly the most frustrating consumer experience that Ive ever had. Ive watched Best Buy, Pacific Sales, and Maytag play pingpong back and forth across the table for months. I paid good money for top-of-the-line washer but have gotten bottom-of-the-line service. Surely, at this juncture, Maytag and Best Buy will finally do the right thing. I am going down to the Best Buy store this morning to visit with the store manager (and then to the laundry mat...not exactly how I wanted to spend my Sunday). If not, then next steps will be to figure out how to find representation to force the issue of the lemon law. Exasperated.

A few weeks after I purchased my Maytag MEDC300 dryer in April 26, 2009, I noticed it gradually did not dry as hot as when I first used it but the element did not go out totally until April 2011. Now its November 2011 and the element is out again. Maytag is sending a service man, of course I have to wait until Monday, I am now inconvenienced 2 times in a year.Theres also what appears to be a burn mark on the back of the drum. Two years ago, I paid more than $400.00 for this thing and when it does work, you have to run it over and over again to dry your clothes. Wow! really energy efficient. What a piece of junk! I had my old dryer 10 years before an element went out. I did buy the Lowes protection plan that was sold with a No Lemon Policy. If the product requires more than 3 repairs for the same failure, theyll replace it, it says in the front of the brochure. In the small print on the back, it states 3 repairs for the same failure in one year. These companies are making money off us consumers who buy Maytag because of the name and what is supposed to be quality, and are ripped off by these insurance programs that say one thing but another in the small print. Big business is nothing more than robbers who get away with robbing the hardworking American people. When is it going to stop?

I purchased the Maytag Bravos XL washing machine because I wanted a top loader that was water saving. This washer boasts of a 10 year commercial capacity so I thought I was buying a decent machine. Unfortunately I have had a very disappointing experience. From the start this machine has not cleaned clothes properly. We circle clothes around the agitator and only fill the machine a third of the way full. This is the only way to ensure clean clothes. We use HE soap.As if this hasn’t been bad enough, the entire motherboard seems to be glitching out. It throws a different code each load and sometimes won’t start. Other times it won’t stop. It isn’t safe to use when we aren’t home or are asleep, making the time delay feature useless. Last night the machine ran for 2.5 hrs on a 1hr 30 min estimated deep water wash. I finally turned off the power and let it drain out after it insisted it had 45 min for the last hour.... this thing is a total waste of money. Will never buy another Maytag!!!!

Friends, Romans, Countrymen, At first I was skeptical and I once thought that I was the only one whose wife complained about the terrible soap stains and un-rinsed clothes. And finally my rinse and spin cycle stopped spinning and rinsing! However, after reading several reviews and complaints about the famous Bravo X He washer by Maytag and taking into consideration that there are over 650 complaints, making mine # 651. I now find I have lost all skeptical-ability and feel that we all may be comrades in this venture of purchasing the new trademark of the trade-mark Maytag. As almost all of us say our previous experience with Maytag was great. My parents had a Maytag since I was knee-high to a grasshopper and we were a family of eight. First we had the one with the rubber rollers, that was a work of mechanical genius. I even remember getting my arm caught in the rollers. Then my dad bought the spin dry model and that lasted a good 20 years. When I say the Bravo X at Sears it looked like the state of the art washer. However, and unfortunately I will have to agree with all of you. It is a piece of scrap metal and Maytag will not recall or recognize their mistake and make good on a recall or something. The least they should do is give us an old machine that does wash and spin to replace the new one that is less than 2 years old and does not work. I sure hope this letter does not fall on blind eyes. I think we may even have a collective lawsuit.Sincerely Yours;Mr. Lost All Skeptability!
