Gas prices are dropping as millions prepare to travel during Labor Day weekend. According to Wisconsin AAA, the average price for a gallon in Wisconsin is $3.23, down 7 cents from last week. On Milwaukee's south side, at the corner of 35th and Oklahoma Avenue, there are two gas stations, the Petro Mart and the Amoco, where regular gas is priced at $2.99.Other places in Milwaukee show prices as low as $2.97 on GasBuddy.com. The owner of the Amoco says this is causing a boom in business."And the inflation is so bad out there, and everything is going so high when we see the gas prices goes down and everything. Customers are happy customers. They want to fill up. They want to go enjoy themselves. When the gas is so high. Nobody wants to do anything," Raed Ahmad said.Wisconsin AAA says the average price of gas right now is 30 cents less than this time last year. This drop in prices is just in time for Labor Day weekend. AAA says it's expecting more people to hit the road this year compared to last year."We don't do the same sort of detailed travel forecast for Labor Day that we do for some of the other weekends. But we are expecting domestic travel to be up about 9% over this time last year, with international travel being slightly below this time last year," Nick Jarmusz with AAA said.Jarmusz added some of the factors in the lower prices are the economy as well as supply keeping up with demand this summer.
