Jessica Alba is at her butt-kicking, action-hero best in this adrenaline-soaked thriller. She plays Special Forces commando Parker, who’s away on duty when she gets called home following the tragic and sudden death of her father. Finding herself the new owner of the family bar, Parker sets about trying to discover what actually happened to her dad. Before long, she finds herself up against a violent and intimidating gang intent on taking over the town.

With the help of her old covert-ops partner Spider (Tone Bell), not to mention her impressive commando skills, can she take down the bad guys and avenge her dad’s death?

Gangs Of Galacia

We’re off to picturesque northwest Spain for this drama series, which mixes crime, revenge and forbidden love. Fresh from working at a top law firm in Madrid, newly qualified lawyer Ana (Clara Lago) arrives in the small town of Cambados, hoping to settle there and lay to rest some ghosts of the past.

It isn’t long before the locals have clocked her presence, not least Daniel (Tamar Novas), the handsome and powerful son of an important but incarcerated drug trafficker. Soon sparks are flying between the pair - but does Ana fully understand the danger she might be putting herself in?

Black Barbie

Available from Wednesday

Executive-produced by Shonda Rhimes (Bridgerton, Inventing Anna) this brilliant documentary takes us back to 1980, when the first black Barbie hit toy-store shelves. That ground-breaking moment was down to three black women who worked at Mattel - Beulah Mae Mitchell, Kitty Black Perkins and Stacey McBride Irby.

Black Barbie tells their fascinating insider stories and how they refused to be invisible - indeed, Beulah, an aunt of the documentary’s filmmaker, worked at Mattel for 45 years, starting at the company in 1955. As the world rides a wave of Barbie mania, this is a lesser-known but essential chapter in her story.

America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders

Behind-the-scenes sports documentaries are having a real moment, and this one - from the team behind Cheer - comes with extra pizazz. We follow the 2023/24 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad's year, kicking off at auditions, where many hopefuls are whittled down to the 36 young women who have made the cut. The pressures of training camp and the high-profile spotlight of the NFL season follows, with a close-knit sisterhood forming. And while the smiles are as big as Texas, the physical and emotional toll of the squad's acrobatic routines can be brutal. Glamour, drama and drive - it's all here.

Outstanding: A Comedy Revolution

"If you see a queer stand-up comedian, I don't think you understand the adversities they've overcome,” says Bob The Drag Queen in this feature-length documentary. Exploring the history of queer stand-up comedy, Outstanding: A Comedy Revolution interviews LGBTQ+ trailblazers of the comedy scene, including Lily Tomlin, Sandra Bernhard, Eddie Izzard, Hannah Gadsby, Rosie O'Donnell, Margaret Cho, Trixie Mattel and more.

There's also some eye- opening archive material featuring memorable stand-up performances from comics who paved the way in less open times. What comes across loud and clear is that queer comedy changed society and fuelled greater acceptance.

Agents Of Mystery

Available from Tuesday

Meet Lee Yong-jin, John Park, Lee Eun-ji, Lee Hye-ri, Kim Do-hoon and Karina, who all have high profiles in their native South Korea, with careers in music, comedy and realityTVamong them. Now they find themselves part of a team in this fiendishly inventive series, which will test them to the limit over a number of brain games and collaborative problem-solving puzzles.

We're told that the group will be “transported to secretive sites to investigate cases and complete missions with their combined intellect. Amid mysteries and clues, their skills and teamwork are put to the ultimate test.” As with any reality show from that part of the world, expect the unexpected.

Federer: Twelve Final Days

We have high expectations for this intimate and historic feature-length film about the last 12 days of Roger Federer’s professional tennis career, as it’s made by Asif Kapadia, the Oscar- and BAFTA-winning director of documentaries including Amy, Senna and Diego Maradona.

Originally intended to be a private record for Federer and his family, the legend of the sport was persuaded to let the world witness what turned out to be a dramatic and surprisingly emotional last hurrah. Featuring interviews with the likes of Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic – rivals but also close friends – plus Federer at his most honest and vulnerable, this is compulsory viewing for all fans.

We Were The Lucky Ones

It’s 1939, and Jewish family the Kurcs are living peacefully in Radom, Poland. There are dark clouds on the horizon, however, and their lives are soon violently shattered by rising antisemitism and then the start of World War II. This eight-part drama tells the story of different family members’ desperate fights to survive the unimaginable horrors of the Holocaust – and then, when the war finally ends, the survivors’ attempts to find each other once again.

Starring Joey King, Logan Lerman, Amit Rahav, Henry Lloyd-Hughes and Hadas Yaron, it’s as harrowing and deeply emotional as you would expect. But as a portrait of the enduring power of love and perseverance, it’s deeply impressive and affecting.

Jack Whitehall - The Gala

Last summer was a busy one for Jack and included a trip to Canada, where he appeared at the legendary Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal. But this wasn’t any old performance – Jack actually hosted his own gala at the Maisonneuve Theatre, featuring a bill of comedians from across the world, including Arthur Simeon, Foil Arms & Hog, Judy Gold, Langston Kerman, Melanie Bracewell, Shane Torres and Zabrina Douglas.

If you’re feeling gutted that you couldn’t be there, don’t worry, the night was filmed, and on Thursday it’s coming to ITVX. Expect the usual self-deprecating, bumbling stuff from Jack, and some unexpected delights from the less-familiar names on the bill.

The Terror

Originally shown on the BBC back in 2021, the first season of this atmospheric, horror-infused anthology drama series gives a fictionalised account of Royal Navy officer Captain Sir John Franklin’s doomed expedition to the Canadian Arctic in 1845.

Starring Ciaran Hinds as Franklin, things really start going wrong when the expedition’s two ships – HMS Terror and HMS Erebus - become trapped in the ice, leaving the crew to fight for survival and their sanity in the unforgiving Arctic winter. Claustrophobic and laden with dread, it’s frequently a deeply uncomfortable watch, but worth sticking with for some sensational performances from the starry cast, which also includes Jared Harris, Tobias Menzies and Alistair Petrie.

My Life Is Murder

It’s off to picturesque New Zealand again to catch up with private investigator – and part-time baker – Alexa Crowe (Lucy Lawless) as she takes on another selection of perplexing murder mysteries.

From a victim bumped off by a particularly powerful tennis-ball launcher, to someone felled by an arrow in the back, the crimes are as enjoyably odd as ever. As a result, loveable Alexa’s going to need the considerable expertise of tech guru and former hacker Madison, not to mention the support of friends and family including brother Will, café owner Reuben and police detective Harry. The eight-part season starts with a double bill, followed by new episodes every Monday.

Walter Presents: You Shall Not Lie

Life couldn’t be better for Macarena (Irene Arcos) – or so it seems. She’s a successful teacher at a prestigious school and lives in a beautiful, luxurious home with her psychiatrist husband Nestor and their daughter Natalia. However, her perfect life is shattered when a video emerges of her engaged in a moment of passion with one of her pupils, Ivan, who also happens to be the son of her best friend.

Soon, the video has gone viral, Macarena – who pleads innocence - is sacked and she becomes a pariah, rejected by her nearest and dearest. Just when things look like they couldn’t get any worse, Ivan is found dead, clutching a suicide note. But is everything as cut and dried as it looks? A twisty, turny, suspense-laden six-part mystery from Spain.

His family drama Yellowstone is one of the biggest shows on USTV, and now Kevin Costner explores the saga's real-life region. Yellowstone National Park is a huge expanse in the western United States, mostly in Wyoming, but also reaching into parts of Montana and Idaho.

On the 150th anniversary of its founding, Academy Award winner Costner sets out into America's first national park to discover if it's still as wild and untouched as it was when the pioneering geologist Ferdinand Vandeveer Hayden first set foot there. Expect wild, spectacular views, incredible wildlife and some stirring monologues from Kevin.
