Cohen was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Cohen; and a daughter, Harriett C. Barlow. She is survived by a daughter and her husband, JoAnn and Marshall Hall, of Pine Bluff, N.C.; one brother, Tommy (B.V.) Blackwood of Irving, Texas; a devoted nephew and his wife, Arnold and Pat Powell, of Chesapeake great-nephews, Raymond M. Powell of Chesapeake and Anthony L.

I was the second UN mmm urn urn 1 1 child born to Ro bert Lee and Sarah Elam Bryant, in a family of 10 children. He attended public schools in Midlothian and the city of Richmond. Robert was inducted into the United States Army in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1946. His earlier attempts to find a career led him to professional training at Hicks Beauty School, where he successfully completed the courses required to receive his certificate in cosmetology. Prior to his retirement after 35 years with Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad, his earlier employment include service with Thalhimer's department store and the Salvation Army.

Robert was a faithful member of Fifth Baptist Church until hk death. He served on the Men's Usher Board, Male Chorus and was a member of the Men's Bible Class. The joys of his life were his family and friends. He enjoyed doing things for others, lending his support, giving sound advice and being surrounded by bis family. His first marriage was to Daisy Winston, who departed in August of 1976.
